gas gauge indicates wronglqlee 04-28-2007, 06:44 PM what is the problem? how to fix it? how much if DIY? thanx, AlaskanWrench 04-30-2007, 02:33 AM well it could be a faulty ground for the dash gage or the sender unit on the fuel pump is munfuctioning or also a faulty ground.. to test ur dash locate the power lead and ground lead from the fuel pump sending unit (lookes like a big lever on the pump) well jump the ground b4 the sender and if the gauge reacts then its a good indicater that ur gauge works.. next check to see if the fuel pump is getting a good ground.. if you conferm good ground its very likily to say the fuel pump sender unit is faulty mightymoose_22 05-01-2007, 09:20 AM Most likely the sending unit on the tank... start at that end. 12Ounce 05-01-2007, 01:01 PM If it is an early model ... say before mid-'90's ... it may also be the instrument voltage regulator, which is mounted on the instrument printed circuit. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
