93 saturn sl2 stock car-- Wont rev over 4 grandfrank491 04-28-2007, 02:00 PM I turned a 93 Saturn SL2 into a stock car!! Last year it ran fine. This year I cant get it to rev over 4 grand!!!!!!!!!!! I changed the plugs, oil and filter, air filter, fuel filter, checked the fuel pressure at the test port and at the fuel pump, that checked ok. I tested the spark (with a light instrument plugged in between the plug and the wire) that seemed ok. I dont know what the fuel delivery rate should be so I havent checked that. I changed the coil packs from a spare parts car I have and that did not help. it is like a switch bieng turned on and off quickly at 4grand. I am out of ideas and its race time.... thanks frank yaz4real 04-28-2007, 10:36 PM Believe the PCM has a built in rev limiter... Cat Fuzz 04-28-2007, 10:43 PM Believe the PCM has a built in rev limiter... Quoted because it's true. Won't rev over 4000 in park or neutral. frank491 05-02-2007, 12:05 AM It wont rev over 4000 when driving it either. I had it up around 6500 to 7000 rpm last year. Cat Fuzz 05-02-2007, 10:40 PM Defective neutral safety switch perhaps? The PCM might be thinking it's still in park or neutral when you're driving. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
