im replacing timing belt and water pump on a 94 escort gt
with a 1.9 i need info on how to set the timing marks...

Hmmm... I thought GT's had a 1.8.
Timing for the 1.9 is simple. With #1 on compression stroke, just line up the dots on the cam, oil pump, and crank.
If done correctly, the crank sensor should be in line with the 9th tooth from the gap in the crankshaft sprocket.

I believe it is still the smae... can't think of a reason it would be much different. THere should be timing marks on the crank and cam... just line them up. Make sure that ninth tooth is lined up too.

but it has a dual over head cam
and there is two marks on the crank gear
each cam has one mark
and there is two marks on the crank gear

Ok...
For the cams, the mark will essentially go straight up... but you will see a notch cut out of the backing plate behind them. Line up the dots with those.
For the crank, there is a timing mark on the block right behind the crank pulley. Line those up.
