I want to make another exhaust system for my car. I have access to a shop and can use the TIG welder. All I need to know is where I can order 2 1/4" piping. I also need to know if I can order piping that is pre bent. This exhaust would use a stright pipe from the headers straight to the muffler in back. No cat or second muffler. I would bolt on the stock exhaust for emmissions tests but thats about it. I have a 98 accord 2 door and I dont want to order a pre made system when I can weld together some pipes and a muffler myself. Where can pre bent pipes and components be ordered from?

what are you going to use to keep the check engine light off when you have no cat?

I ignore it, or I make it so I can swap the cat in and out. Any other suggestions other than ignoring...

This thread isn't really about the cat or check engine light. I just want to know where to get 2 1/4" exhaust piping.

any exhaust shop should help you out.. and dont ignore it the check engine light will change the way your ecu makes the car run (more like crap) therefore cancelling out your exhaust mod.. i suggest getting an o2 simulator.. for your second o2.. that way your ecu thinks your emissions are fine.. also allowing you to pass emissions withour swapping in a new cat.

alright thanks for the info. I may end up leaving the cat. I've decided to spend a bit more money and purchase a cat-back. So far the only one i've seen that I like is from Vibrant. Is vibrant okay? or should I look for a different manu? All the other cat backs I've seen use "fart cans"(not sure if thats what you call it) and I dont find those attractive at all. Are there high quality intermidiate mid pipes out there I could buy and just pair with a good axle back system? Also do high-flow cats work... heh

high flow cats do work a little. if your goin to do a hight flow as well as a cat back i would spend a bit and get a header too. Vibrant makes good products.. i have a header of theres and i love it. i also am getting one of their axel backs.

I will be getting a header but not for a few months, need to give the credit line a little rest. Right now I want to do intake, exhuast and maybe order some goodies like a strut bar. Not sure about the intake. AEM? AEM V2 is low to the ground and I live in a "rain forest".

its it rains alot where you are i dont suggest getting a CAI on your daily driver.. you could try and put a bypass vavle on it but those have a tendancy to not work or break real easy. i suggest a SRI instead or just a K%N filter

What does SRI stand for? or is it just a filter brand... Would a CAI that takes air from the top of the engine comp. be okay for occasional rain? Or maybe a gaurd can be fashioned... maybe it's all not worth it for the slight power gain. The sound change would be nice.

SRI = Short ram intake or the one that take air from the engine bay.. you can get those anywhere for cheap, doesnt have to be name brand.
