radiator leak on 90 camrytaylerb63 04-25-2007, 04:25 PM my radiator began leaking this morning after about a 10 min. ride and i just wanted to know what could have caused this and about how much money am i looking at to get it fixed, is it safe to drive a car with a leaky radiator? somick 04-25-2007, 04:57 PM 1.The leak is most likely caused by age and possibly lack of maintenance. 2. If you fix it yourself you may spend around 100 - 150 dollars. 3. It is not safe to drive with leaking radiator! Driving without adequate engine cooling may cost you thousands of dollars versus 100. Sam Mike Gerber 04-26-2007, 02:14 PM Somick has given you some good advice here. Pay particular attention to number 3. Todays engines with aluminum cylinder heads and other aluminum parts do not take kindly to overheating. Aluminum melts at a lower temperature than the cast iron engines of long ago.
