Do you think Neon owners sit at their computers waiting for you to post a problem? You need to give it a few days for people with real lives to get around to checking this board. We are just hobbyists, we dont get paid for this, and responding here isnt an obligation.
Too bad about the fire. Hope you have better luck with some other make.

I had the same problem, could not jump it, ended up being a bad battery. Had three bad cells. Might try another battery. You might get luckey.

Good Luck

thats your problem right there. the fire. its not supposed to be there...
lmao.

jk. anyway, you prolly made it catch fire cuz you turned it over too much, the starter overheated..and something lit.? if anyone reads this, to make sure its not your BATTERY thats cuasing the engine to not start, (if you connect a bad battery to a good one to jump ,it still wont) you could just REMOVE the bad battery, and just jump ONLY the car.. it will still run, the alt. will provide the power to everything else.. if that works, its your battery.
