235 tire too big for 96 cavalier? letxen3 04-24-2007, 12:21 AM
i have the factory 195-65-15x6 wheel and would like to put on a set of wheels i have extra but they are 235-40-18x7.5 the bolt pattern is same i just dont know if the tire is too big? Classicrocjunkie 04-24-2007, 01:17 AM your going to have rubbing issues. Those wheel it self wit the right bolt patter and offset is fine. But the 235 is extremely wide and will most likely rub on the spring perch. 225/40-18 is the correct size you want to be running. I have 18"x8" rims with that tire size, 42mm offset and i have like 1/2" clearance between the tire and perch. Classicrocjunkie 04-24-2007, 01:18 AM wow, thats some bad grammar. Sorry its late and i don't feel like editing it. I'm sure you can make sense of the words i left letters off of. letxen3 04-24-2007, 01:20 AM thanks i thought so it would rub. im go see if i can get a deal on used tires 225 and in return give them the 235's and see what i can do. Schister66 04-24-2007, 12:04 PM my drag radials are 225.....that is all Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
