I have started to remove my AC Compressor since it is bad need of replacement (noisy grinding noise - no cold air - etc.) I have printed off the steps of how to replace it from the 'Many How To's' article. However, can someone give me a suggestion on how to remove the bolt that is holding the AC lines on to the compressor at the back? I can't seem to get my socket in there. Also, I have seen some references to it being difficult to get the bolt off at the back, what is the best way to get that one out. Any other suggestions on the whole job is also appreciated. Thanks. I remove the 3 front head mounting bolts and the one in the bracket on the rear that goes into the engine block- then slip the compressor and line assembly forward about an inch- then unbolt the line set from the compressor- removing the oil filter helps a great deal as well....I've done about a dozen of these.....

Thanks. That made it a lot easier. My AC is now blowing good cold air. MT

I used the step by step instruction that were posted here. You can follow the link below and it will take you to a 'How To' post. MT
