Redline movie-The Stig- 04-22-2007, 11:48 PM So, I saw Redline today out of sheer boredom. Best Comedy ever. Acting: Horrible. Car stunts: Nothing new, they just look good. Plot: Very Thin. For me, the worst car goof was one of the first 'races' they have. Between a Ford GT, a Shelby 427 Cobra and a C5 Corvette Convertible. The Corvette was horribly done, first off. They show the tach and it says Z06 in the tach, then they show the exterior and you can see it's a convertible with base model wheels, they didn't even try to hide the fact that it's a base model convertible. They never made a convertible Z06. Then when it takes off it's got the Z06 rear brake ducts. But then it doesn't. Idiots. In another chase scene, between a Lamborghini Murcielago convertible and a Ferrari 599 Foriano. I think they got up to 13th gear in the Ferrari using the paddle shifters. Never ending up shifting through heavy Las Vegas traffic, and never once downshifting. There was various continuity issues with wardrobe was well, but almost every movie has them. Except usually you don't see them while in the theatre, they usually become more noticeable after you've seen it once and aren't paying super close attention to it. If there's one thing that I'll give credit to, is that they got the sound track to the cars correct. The Enzo sounds like and Enzo, the CCX sounds like a CCX. Worth seeing in the theatre? No. Worth buying the DVD? Depends, do you enjoy stupid/crazy car movies like I do... if so it's worth a watch. Otherwise, NetFlix that bitch. Musashi3000GT 04-23-2007, 12:43 AM Why cant they make good car movies like "Cannon Ball Run" now a days? Well I like stupid car movies so I'll see in on DVD. I mean for God's sake I bought Herbie Fully Loaded just to keep seeing Rhys Millen drift that black LS1 GTO round that corner over and over again! and Lindsey has a nice rack! VR43000GT 04-23-2007, 01:35 AM I am sure I will see it eventually just like the F&F series. Until then, I won't lose sleep over it. TatII 04-23-2007, 05:24 PM hey stig, does that movie have a nsx in there at all even as an extra? -The Stig- 04-23-2007, 05:55 PM I didn't see a NSX at all, mostly Ford GT's and Ferrari Enzo's and F430. A few Lamborghini's. Lots of eye candy for nice cars and half naked women. TatII 04-24-2007, 12:12 AM doh, they got a vette and not a nsx? pimp349 04-24-2007, 01:14 PM LOL did u miss the part where the girl is shifting the SLR like its a manual? You can even see it in the trailers. AMGalltheway 04-24-2007, 04:30 PM Why cant they make good car movies like "Cannon Ball Run" now a days? Well I like stupid car movies so I'll see in on DVD. Nice titties and hot cars. Fuck the plot and acting, I thought it was a good, fun movie. It had its mistakes, but then again, that was expected. Although I really am suprised that they didn'y use a real Z06. I mean, the director did buy a Saleen S7 TT just for that one race at the end because Saleen wouldn't loan them a car. KamilMk 04-25-2007, 12:09 AM I didn't go to see that movie myself... But my buddy told me it was nothing special... He said it seemed like they rushed the movie, and just wanted to get it out there... Afterall, after Eddie Griffin crashed that Enzo, why wouldn't they want to get it out fast, we all know he needs the money... :grinno: -The Stig- 04-25-2007, 12:39 AM Ha, the movie was already completed when he crashed it. CassiesMan 04-25-2007, 03:03 AM Yeah...the movie was pretty stupid, but honestly, think about it. Do you really think Hollywood would make a movie about real street racing? The movie would be two hours of no story and no drama, with two guys standing in some parking lot in the middle of the night arguing over whose faster, and much like the bar fight scenario, it would be one of those "you hit me no you hit me no you hit me" scenarios, untill finally they race. Then the entirty of those two hours would come down to a ten to fifteen second long CGI sequence, and credits would roll. Say what you will about the crap acting, stupid stories, and down right wrong technical asspects of these sorta movies, they are just straight up fun. That, and from the perspective of a freind of mine whose doing the whole film art major thing, its pretty amazing that this guy created his own production company, his own distribution company, and pretty much everything else he would need to get the film out there. But the guy is some super millionaire or something. I was under the impression that he owns damn near every car in that movie, and that he was totally unphased when Griffin crashed the Ferrari (even though Wikipedia had it listed as the front man from Korn for a while). To not be upset at all about that...that's money. silentscreams85 04-25-2007, 11:50 PM and Lindsey has a nice rack! Correction...Lindsay HAD a nice rack :shakehead too bad shes bulimic anorexic or w/e you call it now.... AMGalltheway 04-27-2007, 01:47 PM yeah man especially the first one shes got a nice wet shirt scene:naughty: Polygon 04-27-2007, 02:05 PM So, I should wait to see this one when it comes out on DVD? -The Stig- 04-27-2007, 07:07 PM Yes. Although, sadly... movies tend to make more on DVD now days than they do in the theatres. Notice how movies tend to be put on DVD sooner than they used to be... Hell, I was working at a Warner Brothers site today doing some testing and it was where they did all the DVD encoding and compressing of files for DVD releases. One of the rooms I was in, I was 3ft from the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie in the can. Pretty much still in the theatres I believe, guy was going to start putting together the DVD files and HD encoding. So much money in equiptment... like multi-million dollar setups, and some old ass fire alarm equiptment protecting it that was state of the art back in 1978. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
