This van keeps blowing fuse #6 as soon as I replace it (instantly). Apparently fuse #6 is for the Radio, Power Sliding Door, and Keyless Entry system. This fuse is designed the be easily pullable without removal of the fuse box cover to reduce battery drain when the vehicle is parked for an extended period of time.

This all started when my wife drove over a bump and #6 blew.

I pulled the following fuses and with them removed replaced #6 and it still blew as soon as inserting it. :banghead:

FUSE 8 20A -- Rear Electronic Module, RHF/RH Sliding/LH
Sliding/Liftgate Door Lock Motors, Aux. Air
Blend Door Motor, Aux. Air Mode Door Motor
FUSE 14 10A -- Autolamp Sensor, Transmission Overdrive
Cancel Switch, Front Electronic Module,
Compass Module, Electrochromatic Mirror,
Power Sliding Door Overhead Console Switch
FUSE 18 10A -- LH Quarter Window Motor, RH Quarter
Window Motor, RH Window Switch
Backlighting, RH Lock Switch Backlighting,
Master Control Switch (LH) Backlighting, Radio
FUSE 25 10A -- Radio

Upon closer examination I think I should have pulled #10 instead of #8 but now I am out of fuse #6 (15A) replacements so I figured it would be a good time to seek advice.

FUSE 10 10A -- Heated Backlite Relay (coil), Speed Control
Module, ABS Module, Cluster, Front Temp
Blend Door Actuator, Brake Shift Interlock
Solenoid, Powertrain Control Module,
Power Sliding Door Module RH and LH,
Reverse Sensing System, Front A/C Control
Head

ANY advice would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

Dunno if it will help, but here's some info from my '99 diagram. Fuse #6 feeds the loads thru conductors of more than one color:
Door modules fed by RD/WH
Rear radio control fed by G/PK
CD player, radio, and remote keyless fed by LG/VT.

Good luck. Unless you've got aftermarket audio, I would bet on one of the door modules being the culprit.

Hello

To find a short where the fues blows as soon as it's installed I used a light bulb in it's place. I soldered wires to the bulb and put the wires into the fuse socket. If there is a direct short, which this one sounds like, the bulb will be bright. As items are disconected that this fuse powers, the bulb will dim. The bulb gives you time to unplug items. Unplug items until the bulb is out. Then plug each item in one item at a time until the bulb shines bright. You've most likely found your problem.

Regards

Dan
