i was kinda wondering about the intercooler setup. wont having the intercooler up against the radiator cause the temerature of the FI to rise lowering the efficiency of the turbo? i know that their would be a lot more response from that shor pipe travel it just seems like puttiing the intercooler their would make it harder for it to do its job. isnt that why u cant boost that much with a sock SM intercooler, because it cant cool it enough and just ,blows hot air into the motor?
just curious because i though of going a similar route but though of the things i just mentioned.

Well for one i'll be running a puller and a pusher fan to try to evac as much heat out of the engine bay as possible. I will also be running ducting to the intercooler/rad setup, this should dramatically cut down on temps. So all in all i was concerned with the same as you said above, but have decided to try the setup with my precautious setup.

so whats the estimated curb weight of this beast after completion?

The car stock was 2300lbs, im hoping the 100% stripped (besides two seats, and a aluminum dash w/ gauges) Most of the body will eventually be carbon, and the seats will probably carbon also. I will also be running a 5 gal. fuel cell next year im guessing. so the end result will hopefully be around or under 2000lbs. (in a perfect world i want 1800lbs.)

and about 350whp out of the ka-t?

i would also like to mention that this is project definitely has baller handling and acceleration potential... im really stoked to see it finished. stay on the ball man, i hope you stay on this project..

im looking for 320whp on low boost, and 400+ on high.

im going to be custom fabbing some 240 coilovers into this 8/6kg spring rates, figure that its not super stiff on a 240 but on a car with 600lbs less it should be abour right, should come out the same as a 10/8kg setup on a 240. And that should take care of the cars ride for the most part.

as far as drag setup, i'll be running stock 240 springs (nice and soft) and the coils in the front. (as they wont be interchangeable for now..)
