Hi all, just wanted to let you know about my experience with "high mileage" motor oil. This is the stuff you add to an old motor if you are having leaks. It contains seal conditioners that are supposed to cause seals to seal better.

I just changed my oil with the stuff and drove 1000 miles to Florida. Previously I was leaking a lot of oil, and it was leaving big puddles in my driveway. I have a 90 Caravan with a 3.0 L and a 3 speed trans and more than 160,000 miles. I drove hard and fast to Florida with a full load of furniture.

I have to say I was suprised how well the oil worked. I didn't have to add any oil, and leakage has gone down to a minimum. Maybe I lost 1/4 quart.

I bought the cheap stuff from Walmart. It's only a little more expensive than the regular oil. So it was a really cheap fix, well worth the effort.

Thanks for the info. This a temporary (a "stop gap" :grinyes: ) solution, unless the vehicle will be driven into the ground.

I'd have to agree with DE but, thanks for the first hand info. That's rare in a forum. What brand was it? If you could give us an update every couple months, that would be great.

It was the cheap Walmart brand, I think it's called "Super Tech".
