Have a 1998 Olds 88, remote trunk buttons (dash and FOB) do not work, can only open with key, was intermittent for a while, but now does not open at all. When I push the trunk button on dash, or button on FOB, hear a click noise in glove box where the trunk release on/off switch is located,

thanks.

when you hit the switch to open it that does not come up right?? it has to be to be top switch or motor at the bottom not gettng juice or wire burnt.
test it like this with the trunk up have someone push switch inside if top latch is not moving theres your problem..if it is then it's in the the bottom trunk motor..could be trunk pull down switch on motor..also could be motor burnt..one more thing you should have big fuses under hood you have to pull the plastic shield on fire wall to get to them.let me know i just went threw this on my moms car..good luck...

Thanks, Scrapper, I'll give it a try tonight, BTW, what was the fix with your Mom's car?

I get contact when I wiggle the motor.

Glad to know that I'm not the only one with this problem. My '94 Eighty-Eight does the exact same thing.

on the fix of my moms car went to salvage yard got the top latch and went ahead and bought motor too
bought 35 for both...that litle contack you say your getting it probably the little pull down switch on top of your motor in trunk there easy to replace on your car..

make sure you unhook neg.to battery of when doing this..but i'd get it used like i did because the motor is not cheap...hope this helps
you.....good luck....

Thanks again, Scrapper, I'm going to clean all of the contacts on, in, and around the motor I can, if this does not work then I'll do like you advise.
