rear break drums, can anyone help?yvehc350 04-16-2007, 04:36 PM on my wifes o2 there are 3 screws on the drum, I take them out and cant get the drum off. can anybody help me? mightymoose_22 04-16-2007, 06:42 PM These usually need to be taken off by inserting a bolt into one of the hold on the drum... the bolt will go through the drum and push it bree of the brakes. Alternately, you can try your luck with a heavy rubber mallet and see if you can get it to loosen up. Of course... also make sure the parking brake is not on! yvehc350 04-17-2007, 04:11 PM Thanks, Ill give that a try. Johnny Mullet 04-17-2007, 09:25 PM Yeah! After removing the screws, whack it good to break it loose. Bobbywolf 04-17-2007, 09:50 PM Thanks, Ill give that a try. Yep, there should be two threaded holes that you thread some bolts into. What happens, is that a lip forms on the inside edge of the drum, and hangs up on the shoes when you try to get it off. A big hammer can help as well. Turn the bolts a couple turns, give the drum a few wacks, couple more turns, repeat... They will come off. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
