1977 Toyota Celica STDoodmar 04-10-2007, 11:50 PM Hey guys, I'm a COMPLETE newbie when it comes to cars. It's time for me to be buying a car of my own, and I have a car in mind that someone is willing to sell. However, I am not sure if it would be worth it. It's an old '77 Celica ST. The previous owner has put a few thousand dollars into it replacing various things such as the carborator. I can't remember what else he said had been replaced. Shortly after, his dad bought him a new car, so he hasn't driven this one in about half a year. Here's the part that makes me think twice about getting it. It has 305,890 miles on it, the seats are torn from wear, and it needs a new battery, tires, tuneup. It starts up really well, have not gotten a chance to drive it. He was thinking about selling for about $500, what are your opinions? dtaylor2 04-25-2007, 11:12 AM 305 K is a lot of miles, and from what I've seen, the older Celicas had a serious problem with not aging very well. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
