Killed a ZX3 in my MaximaBeZerK2112 04-07-2007, 03:51 PM Well it's not often that I get a race where I live. Usually you have to set them up. My brother bought a 2001 ZX3 this last week and thought that it was way faster then my maxima. He's been bugging me like crazy for a race so I gave him one. We both were driving to my shop and caught a light. I have an auto but have played with it enough to know how to get a good start, I dont know how hi he had his rpms but when the light went green I saw some smoke come off his tires as launched right past him. I must say that his initial start was strong, he caught up with me but by the time I we hit 35 he was toast. I pulled ahead so fast he didn't have a chance. I was about 5 lengths ahead by the time I pulled infront of him to signal my victory. I got up to about 75 and I think he said he only pulled about 55. Anyways it was fun and actully my first official kill in my Maxima. 148k and still going strong. -The Stig- 04-07-2007, 04:52 PM Seems like he got the jump on you mostly because his car is a bit lighter than yours, and once you got moving the mighty VG30DE took over. Good one. KamilMk 04-08-2007, 02:36 AM Good race bro. Keep that Maxima running man! My friend wrecked his just about two weeks ago... Was a one fine looking car, with some minor exterior upgrades... Too bad he can't drive to save his life. :banghead: pimp349 04-14-2007, 02:27 PM the mighty VG30DE took over. Its the VQ30DE. The VG30DE is the one in the 300ZX iirc. pimp349 04-14-2007, 02:28 PM BTW BeZerK2112, yours is a 99 SEL correct? Is it cali or fed spec? -The Stig- 04-14-2007, 02:52 PM Its the VQ30DE. The VG30DE is the one in the 300ZX iirc. Yeah, you're correct. I always forget that the VG30E was used from 1984-1994, then they used the VE30DE from 1991-1994 in the Maximas. In 1995 they made the switch to the VQ30DE on the Maximas, and was used till 2001. I always think they made the switch to the VQ later... meh. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
