Does anyone know how to program a keyless remote for a 1998 Eighty-eight? I threw my keys to my Son, and he missed and they hit the pavement, no panic button, no response, anything. I have tried a couple of techinques from other forums to no avail.

1) Turn ignition switch off
2) Install a fused jumper wire (most people simply use a bent paperclip) between pin 8 (black/ white wire) and pin 4 (black wire) at the data link connector (DLC) the DLC is located under the drivers side of the dash, generally bolted to the right of the steering column
3) Close all doors
4) Turn the ignition switch on
5)Press and hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on one remote (both buttons at the same time) for 30 seconds. The doors will lock then unlock
6)Repeat step (5) for each additional transmitter
7) Remove Jumper wire
8) Turn off ignition.

Thanks for your advice, I need another remote and you have the best price, but I tried these steps and got no response. Is there more than one DLC under the driver's side dash? The one I used does not have metal in all slots, nor are the slots numbered.

This is what you should be looking at, although it may be installed upside down under your dash, so pay attention to the diagram:

Spent two hours on it last night, even unbolted the damn thing to verify the colored wires. Absolutely nothing, I'm convinced there's no juice flowing through this thing, am going to hit it with the multimeter tonight. Let me get this straight-

1. Get in car, close all doors, leave switch in unlock position (all doors unlocked that is), place key in ignition, do not turn key, short (connect) #4 to #8 in DLC using anything that fits, in my case I am using a paper clip, turn key to fully on, not starting engine, doors will lock to signal car is in programming mode.

Is it possible I blew a fuse, and if so, which one?

thanks again.
