Radiator or Water Pump etc.??

I have a 1996 Sedan Deville 121,000 miles on it. Seeee at idle, the temp gets hot 222 - 230, so what i do is put my cruise control on 45mph, a/c on, to kick the fans on, and like this the engine cools down rapidly to 194 f temperature. But when i come to a red light heats back up (not a whole lot) to 210.
What could it be? The Radiator? that would be my guess, maybe its clogged??

The fans don't normally come on till 222 degrees, may not be any problem here. At 225 see if they come on , no a/c on of course.

Although not the same engine, but my '94 Deville with the 4.9 will get up to 235 sitting at a light, and around 190 on the highway. So I don't think there is any problem with your car. Unless you are hitting 240 or more, I wouldn't worry. Usually the engine temp warning doesn't come on until 260 or so.
