Hi all,

Just replaced the battery on my 96 JGC. Everything working o.k. EXCEPT that my information console just keeps flashing the date/time. No matter what I do with the 'Set' or 'Select' button, it just keeps flashing. I remember reading at some point some "gotchas" when it comes to changing your battery, but any other info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'll be the first to ask the question... Have you just simply tried setting it? They do need to be reset with the accurate date and time. Also maybe your not holding the buttons correctly to get it to the "set" feature.
Ok, with that out of the way and you have tried setting it then my suggestion is disconnect the battery again and let it stay disconnected for about 5 minutes, then reconnect and set it to see if that cured your problem.

Thanks for the advice. No matter which combo of 'Set' and 'Select' I hit, the clock wouldn't stop flashing. I unplugged the battery and let it sit for a while. Plugged it back in and was able to change the time no problem. Strange...... Thanks for the heads-up.

Glad I could have helped, but it was more of a thought or idea. I really wasn't sure my self if it would work. LOL
