What happens if you run straight water, instead of adding coolant and water into the engine????

Opinions Pleasse??

Corroded components, it will run hotter, freeze up naturally. There is never a reason to do this in a street driven vehicle.

Don't forget that it will boil over very easily! Not a smart thing to do.

I agree with you caddydaddy. But i donno see, the reason i asked that question is because i used to mix dex cool and water (50/50 mix) and it seemed to overheat more and would overflow out of the hose on the pressure cap.

What kind of car was this? If it's boiling over on dexcool, it'll boil over on regular coolant. I don't think there's much temp difference. Either way, if it does boil over, there's some engine problems.
