For all of you who have replaced them, what brand did you use and did you notice a difference in ride quality? If so, was it more sporty or floaty? Any other feedback would be appreciated.

I replaced mine on the 99 at about 78K miles and it has felt really good afterwards. Prior, it was rattling, knocking, and now...front feels almost like new (steering still looser than my 2004).

I had them replaced at PepBoys, and don't know what brand they were.

I'm thinking of changing my shocks in the rear this summer, but not sure...not sure how long I will keep it. I will need to replace front rotors and rear brake overhaul.

I replaced mine with the standard Monore replacements. I wouldn't say that the ride quality was significantly changed for the better or worse. The dampening ability was obviously improved over the old ones that had deteriorated just with age.

The rear ones are easy to do, even if you have the air shocks. The front ones are fun...fun in the same sense that a root canal is fun.
