I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand AM GT 6 cylinder. I need to replace the battery. Is it a pain in the a$$ for this particular model? Anything of importance I should know before going ahead?

wrong forum but its ok, it'll prob get moved....

you'll need I think a 13 or 15mm socket to take out the piece that holds the battery in place.. an extension works well and when taking off the battery connections... black first then red... and I think those use a 8mm or 10mm but I could be wrong

make sure you get the same battery :D

I don't know if the GT is different than the SE, but my SE was incredibly easy to change and put in (including rewiring my audio system). The only "hard" part was getting my new cold air intake around my battery :p

Ok I moved it.

Its pretty easy to replace the battery.
One bolt on the pole side of the battery down low.
10 mm socket to remove the bolt on the block ,
it probly will have to be completely removed.
It might also be rusted and hard to turn, try some spray lube :thumbsup:

If you have the stock air box it might be tight but should come out .
And the Ram air shouldnt be in the way either.

All GAs are the same from 86' and Up !

Oh ya, remove the Batry terminals.
