Anyone use AC PF61 filters ataririder 04-02-2007, 09:51 PM
I don't like to use the 46 because they seem too small for a V8. They are almost as small as my wife's 1.8 corrolla oil filter. My LT1 takes a 52 and 61 is a little bit smaller but it looks like it would work. Anybody use the PF61 on their 5.3? maxwedge 04-02-2007, 10:08 PM Use it in the 4.2 Trailblazer since new, 7qt fill. ataririder 04-05-2007, 12:03 AM You are suppose to use that filter on your car. I'm talking about a Silverado with a 5.3. klinn 04-05-2007, 12:13 AM The Trailblazer and the Silverado use the same filter. If in doubt refer to the owners manual. In the back should be an area with the OE part numbers for maint. items. The oil filter should be listed there. Use what the manufacturer suggests. In the 2001 to 2006 span of the Silverado, they went from and tall filter, to a short filter. I also noticed the oil fill went from 6.5 qts. to 6.25 with the shorter filter, if you want to have a bigger filter, go to the parts store and ask for a filter from a couple years earlier (2001 or so with the 5.3). They will work, but again, I would use the manufacturer suggested filter. Hope this helps. BlenderWizard 04-05-2007, 06:06 AM PF59 is the correct ACDelco filter for the 5.3 I used to use them. Best to use what the good book calls for on it. And stay with the AC Delco for sure. MT Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
