Hard start, unsteady idle, choppy accelerationJay! 09-08-2001, 09:07 PM To be diagnosed... '89 Accord LX-i Sedan 2.0L When starting, my engine cranks once or twice, then stops. I let go and try again, same thing. It usually starts on the third or fourth try. :( It sounds like it's sticking, maybe? When idling, it seems to be missing a beat. Noticeable vibrations from the engine. Perhaps a spark plug isn't firing, or a cylinder isn't getting fuel. My fuel injectors are only about 3 months old. :( When accelerating up to about 3,000 RPMs, the acceleration is "choppy." Again, seems like it's missing a beat. Seems fine while cruising at freeway speeds. :( So, are there any easy explanations that I could check on with only a socket wrench? Where to begin? Let me know if I need to add any more info about the car... [sigh] I can't afford this... :( TheMan5952 09-09-2001, 02:31 AM pull your plugs and check them, aslo pull your distributor cap, and check for vacum leaks. MercCougarXR7 09-10-2001, 06:23 PM Most definately sounds like plugs. Or, spark related anyways (so possibly wires too). When was the last time you changed them? They should be done YEARLY. BTW, I was under the impression you drove an S2000? Jay! 09-11-2001, 01:26 AM Originally posted by MercCougarXR7 BTW, I was under the impression you drove an S2000?
