I have replaced fuel pump 1 a year for last 3 years. What could be making it go bad? Help? MT-2500 04-01-2007, 11:54 AM I have replaced fuel pump 1 a year for last 3 years. What could be making it go bad? Help? Welcome to AF. More info always helps. What year and what engine? Some of the main reasons are. Running tank low on fuel. Bad wiring to pump. Cheap replacement pumps. Bad or dirty fuel. Clogged fuel filters. plp7394 04-01-2007, 10:19 PM .1995 Chevrolet Blazer 4.3 Vortec W series. I did use a dealer fuel pump. DelCoch 04-01-2007, 11:39 PM Constantly running around with less than a 1/4 tank of gas will cause the fuel pump to overheat and fail prematurely. Running it all the way down to empty before filling up is not good either. blazes9395 04-01-2007, 11:49 PM Constantly running around with less than a 1/4 tank of gas will cause the fuel pump to overheat and fail prematurely.
