97 Venture Electrical Issues. Please help!!

I have a 1997 Chevy Venture that out of the blue started up with these weird electrical problems. I should first note that it had a powerbrake unit installed under the dash for towing a trailer. There were 3 wires from that hooked up. One was ground, one went to the battery, and the third went to the bake wire under the dash. I removed that unit and coincidentally, the next day, the car started with these issues I am about to describe. I don't see how it could have caused this but weirder things have happened. It was driven for about 30 miles (and ran fine) and then sat in a parking lot for 3 hours. When my wife tried to start it, it would not start. The engine was turning over but it would not start. After about 5 tries, it did start and she drove away. She got about 5 miles and the van completely died. Now, even w/o a key in it, you can hear the relays under the hood clicking, the dash gauges are all pegged and it will not start. Like before it turns over but it will not catch. It's almost like the fuel injectors won't engage, because it has a spark. Any hep would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

Eric
