2000 Dodge Dakota platinum plugsklt 03-28-2007, 01:59 PM 6cyl, 3.9L, 2wd, auto trans, 72,000 miles I have been doing all of the maintenance items recently and a tune up is next. The manual recommends replacing the plugs every 30,000 miles. I was thinking of putting in platinum plugs. Can anyone recommend plugs, wires, etc. I have heard some people have had problems not using OEM parts and wanted to avoid the problems. Thanks in advance. Scrapper 03-28-2007, 02:59 PM i'd put NGK'S in it so i got them in mine you have same motor as i do and have no problems and 4 the wires you need to keep O.E. if you can i got mine at car quest but i think autozone or advacned sells O.E'S also or can get them..good luck... w9awx 01-05-2008, 09:51 PM Do not put Platinum plugs in a Magnum engine. You are just going to be pulling them out in a month or less. Throw in a set of NGK plugs. Look elsewhere in this group for NGK spark plugs. Put in the factory equivalant. thdarkknight 02-05-2009, 08:47 PM champion coppers only in that truck, i have a 2000 model and i installed platinums and the truck ran worse and had a bad spark knock. installed champions and my issues went away, 98000 miles TDK vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
