Lug nuts falling off! thresher90 03-27-2007, 06:28 PM
I have a 97 GP GT and noticed the other day that a lug nut fell off the front right wheel. so I bought a new one and put it on. Then ,not two days later a different lug nut fell off the same wheel. Any one else have this problem?:screwy: bricker82 03-27-2007, 07:15 PM Tell me that you re-tightened all of the other lugs after you put the new one on! jeepgclwj 03-27-2007, 08:25 PM ^^^lol... my first thoughts exactly...at least at that rate he will have all new lugs soon.... BNaylor 03-28-2007, 08:35 AM  Yeah, I agree it might help to properly torque the lug nuts. 100 ft-lbs. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y186/lizzywiz/pattern.gif bricker82 03-28-2007, 07:33 PM OH...I like that chart, Thanks BNAYLOR! thresher90 03-28-2007, 08:03 PM :grinyes: lol maybe all new ones are the way to go! yes I retighted the nuts and that one still fell off. How are the threads on the wheel studs? SL3000gt 03-29-2007, 12:36 AM Lol, this thread is a good laugh. Never the less a serious problem though. If they are the right size nuts they should definately not be just coming off. Like bnaylor said how are the threads and are they the right size? thresher90 03-29-2007, 04:48 PM So far so good its has been about a week and none of them have fallin off :grinyes: Oh and I'm glad to give everyone a laugh:grinyes: Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
