Replaced 2 rusty brake lines at rear. Now I can't get the brakes to bleed.
Pedal needs to be pumped up 3-5 times to get good pedal. Let sit for a minute and have to pump again. Is there a special procedure for bleeding these ABS equipped brake systems. Put on new Master Cylinder, same problem.:banghead:
Any ideas appreciated.

Just a quick question, I know this might sound trivial and it might have been done, but since I don't know your mechanical skills and you didn't mention.....when you back the bleeder screw off and you pumped the brakes, a good flow came out without bubbles or spitting right?

Secondly, if you had a line break or your line was off long enough to drain the master cyclinder, make sure you "bench bleed" or bleed the master cylinder before you start. This means instead of bleeding at the caliper, try unscrewing at the master cyclinder connection first (same as you would the Caliper).

I've never heard of ABS having to be bled different than other systems, but I am also not a licensed mechanic.

Thanks for the reply.
There are no bubbles or evidence of air while bleeding, just a steady stream
of fluid. The Master Cylinder was bench bled before installation. It has been
suggested that I vacuum bleed the system for better results. That is my next step. Running out of ideas and patience.
Maybe I should just cut the roof off , bury it to the door handles and
plant some flowers in it.
