98 Honda Passport Cylinder Headadmdukie 03-20-2007, 09:43 AM It appaears one of my Cylinder Head "Tubes" has water in it from the radiator leaking. I'm thinking this is either because I have a cracked Head, or there is a "o" ring that has been "damaged" or came loose. I have taken my the top of the head off, however, I'm unsure how to remove the "tube" if at all possible. Does anyone have any ideas to either removing the "tubes" or what my problem is?! Is there a tool that I need to take the head apart?!?! ~Lost~ trooperbc 03-20-2007, 07:18 PM you took the *top of the head* off? or you took the *valve cover* or also called the *cylinder head cover* off? that's what i assume. if it were oil entering the sparkplug side of the tube, replace the seal and then that would be that. but since you say it is coolant, that is way odd. did you notice any coolant around the spark plug(s) for the tube that had the coolant? unless you somehow got coolant down that tube yourself, it is sounding like a head problem, unfortunately. can you tell us more about what you saw when you took the valve cover off. and what cylinder in particular. which engine do you have btw //bc admdukie 03-21-2007, 09:03 AM I removed the spark from the tube after I removed all the water, and there is no coolant/water in the spark plug hole. The only water that is there is just in the tube that contains the spark plug. It is the first tube on the passenger side of the vehicle (4th I believe). It appears to me that the water is filling up the "tube" and covering flowing to the outside running down the head and onto the ground, which would explain why I am over heating and/or having to fill my radiator up atleast once every two-three weeks. If you look down the tube, you can see a "ring", this appears to be the same ring in the aluminum as the rest of the tubes (althought no other tubes contain ANY water), but it appears water is slowing dripping out from around this ring...that is why I was wondering if it could be a type of "o" ring. trooperbc 03-21-2007, 09:15 PM thanks for the further explanation, but the answer is the same; not good. yes there is a seal, but it is to seal out oil, not water. when you took off the valve cover, did you see any evidence of coolant on/in the head exposed? and where, exactly. what engine do you have? i don't have first hand knowledge of this problem so i'm just trying to walk through it with you. //bc //bc vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
