tranny problemssupremesniper 03-19-2007, 11:06 AM i have a 94 gp and my tranny is slipping bad in 1st gear and at 2000rpms. it is full with fluid. what do you think is the problem? would it be and easy/cheap fix? GTP Dad 03-20-2007, 07:22 AM I doubt it will be cheap. If it is slipping badly and the fluid is good it is probably a bad clutch or band causing the issue. Sounds like a rebuild to me, unfortunately. I would take it to a tranny shop for evaluation just to be certain but unless this is a very low mileage vehicle I suspect it is time for an upgrade in the transmission given the fact that the car is 13 years old. supremesniper 03-20-2007, 06:49 PM it has 154k so best option is drive it into the ground? GTP Dad 03-21-2007, 05:57 PM Sounds like a plan! tja2001GTP 03-29-2007, 12:27 PM my 2001 GTP was slipping. The transmission had to be rebuilt. I was lucky to have it under warranty at the time Scrapper 03-29-2007, 01:14 PM i know this sounds stupid but when you drive it run the crap out of it and change fluid and filter and see what happens..i've done this before a few times and it quit slipping..good luck... supremesniper 03-30-2007, 09:09 AM i replaced the filter in the tranny right before i quit driving it (i bought a 300zx turbo) it was driving fine but over the winter it started slipping pertty soon im gonna put my z back on the road and deal with the car later vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
