any chips out yet for a 1996 riv?

Hey there I was wondering if there was any perfomance enhanceing chips or anything yet for a s/c 1996 buick riviera cause I would really like to get rid of the limted 105 mph! thanks

the riv is actually speed limited to 108mph (every speedometer reads a little bit off tho). there is no direct chip for the riv of any year :( and do not fall for the ebay "chips" they are a waste of money and dont do anything helpful.
the only way to remove the speed limiter is to get a DHP powertuner or something similar to retune the pcm and change the speed limit. but the good news is that a tuner will do anything you want :D

The 96 is OBD II and does not use a "chip". The PCM has to be "reflashed" with any changes. Easy to do, if you have the equipment to do it.

actually, at least on my PT, the limit is set at 102mph....yawn

just get the tuner. but you cant program the transmission much like the 97+ models. no performance shift options.
