Hi, Ihave a 94 accord ex v-tec and im having problems. The other day I was driving and I felt the car jerk (kind of like it was losing power). Shortly after the jerk and a few putt putts the car turned off. I have never had this problem before. I dont tink its the starter because I just replaced that. Could it be the exhaust? I am open for any suggestions.

Thanks for your time.

Not enough information. The car quit. Were you able to restart it? Is it now dead in the water? Help us out here. We need more information.

yes I was able to start it back up after waiting 10 minutes. When I started it, it makes a "clunk" sound as it turns on. Someone told me it could be a bunch of reasons as to why it shut of (distributor, idle speed sensor etc.). But I have no clue which one it is.

I also noticed that when the rpm's drop the car shuts off (it dosnt ease down...it drops straight to zero).

Could be ignition switch, ignition coil, igniter or fuel. You need to do some testing during that time it won't start after the engine shuts down. It will require a small 12 volt light bulb or multimeter to check for voltages. Fixing these types of problems is best done after testing, and then changing the inexpensive items that could cause the problem working up to the more expensive items.

What in the distributor? Thei igniter and coil is in the distributor and are replaceable. There are also three sensors which are not replaceable. So was it one of the sensors?
