I received this message when I took my vehicle through emissions. I bought and inexpensive code reader and determined it was the IAT sensor. I replaced this sensor and reset the check engine light. This error is still coming up on the code reader. I saw a previous post about the wiring being broken at the sensor and inspected it and it appears intact. Does anyone have any info on this?

The most probable thing that seems to happen is the wires will break inside of the rubber insulation. The wire will look perfect on the outside, but will be broken, or have a weak connection inside. This typically happens within an inch or so of the connector itself.

The general fix is to check for voltage between the terminals of the connection. It should read +5V with the key on. If it doesnt, or fluxuates whevever it is moved, or just generally fluxuates, trim about an inch of wire back. Check there. If it holds steady, rewire the connector. If not, keep going back until you get it.
