i have a 1988 dakota v6 3.1l and my steering column is broke where the knuckle is and i have no idea how to remove the wheel its self. it broke when i was moving the truck by hand and accidently gave a little force to the steering wheel which snapped the retaining screws and now its just completely dangling only attached to the knuckle its self. i managed to free the wiring harness to controll the column's function switch. what should i do?

any chance you can post a picture? There are many designs of columns and a photo will go a long way. although iIt sounds like the tube (or housing) broke, not the knuckle. Was it loose for a long time before it broke?
