Just a friendly heads upDarrius 03-07-2007, 08:35 PM Last night my wife went to start our 2000 Alero and it wouldn't go at all, it turned, had lights and lots of juice but just wouldn't catch, apperently this is common. We had it towed to the garage and today were informed that it was the fuel pump and the cost of replacing it would be around the $1244.00 total. Not what we wanted to hear, http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/icons/icon8.gif, so I spoke with some people and one of them said to loosen the gas cap. Yeah, right, right?? Well, guess what? It must have been vapor locked or something, but it fired up right away. The other idea that someone gave me, and it works, it just replace the relay switch, $15 bucks instead of $1200. Moral of the story, if your car doesn't start, but has turning power and everything else, loosen the gas cap. Yeah, I know, sounds dumb, but it worked. vamc 03-10-2007, 02:38 PM wow. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
