'96 Roadmaster Oil leak

One mechanic says rear main seal while th eother says intake manifold and possibly also rear main seal. Anyopne have experience with this type leak?

Roadmasters with LT1 engines (94-96) have a commone intake leak problem caused by the aluminum intake expanding and contracting more than metal tends to loosen the bolts holding the intake to the heads. It happened to mine and I just torqued all the intake bolts to spec(can't remeber torque spec off the top of my head) and this definitely helps. The intake leaks from the rear drivers side and down the back of the engine and also leaks from the passenger side and ends up on the starter. Also the EGR pipe on the back of the engine brings a lot of heat around the back of the drivers side head and tends to disintegrate the sealant on the back of the intake causing leaking oil. Try tightening the intake and see how it goes. I tightened mine about 12,000 miles ago and it definitely seems to be better than it was but I am planning to reseal my intake in the future. If you do use the Felpro gasket for the intake, it is much better than the OEM gasket. Hope it's not the rear main seal tho I don't think so.
