I HAVE A 1997 BUICK SKYLARK AND IT SEEMS TO TAKE FOREVER FOR THE REMOTE TO OPEN THE DOORS OR TRUNK AND SOMETIMES DOES'NT WANT TO WORK AT ALL IT SEEMS. I ALMOST HAVE TO BE RIGHT ON TOP OF THE CAR AS WELL AND IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING. THE BATTERY IS GOOD IN THE REMOTE AND THE REMOTE CHECKED OUT OK AS FAR AS I CAN TELL. CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO ADJUST THE SENSITIVITY ON THE CAR' KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM TO POSSIBLY INCREASE THE PRODUCTIVITY OF THE REMOTE IN THIS CASE? I DON'T KNOW IF THIS WOULD WORK OR NOT BUT I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE WORTH A TRY.:banghead:

Sometimes the remotes themselves just wear out and need replacing but there is something you can try first. Open up the remote and seperate the green circuit board from the rubber buttons pad. Clean out any black grease type substance between the 2 parts and put it all back together. That usually gets rid of the "near dead" remote problem.

Remote fobs work on 380 Mhz, sending a personal code and command.

Batteries get weak and the battery seat gets dirty and corroded.
Replace battery with a clean untouched battery into a clean seat.
Cases crack and seals leak and moisture corrodes them.

You can hold them under your chin and transmit and it will sometimes go farther..
Try it!

Good Luck

:frown: Sorry guys, this was my first time joining and posting and I didn't realize all caps was a no-no. I'll do better next time and thanks for the responses I received! :)

No biggie but, on your own posted tread or reply at the bottom there is a added edit button and you can edit your own post and correct it..

I find it interesting that the Cyber culture developed it's own ediquette. Capitalization is equivalent to YELLING.
Just soz you know.

Whether it is a biggie or not is the decision of the assigned Moderators.

He doesn't need to edit or correct any of his prior posts and the warning from a Moderator was sufficient to include the reference to AF posting guidelines which covers the use of caps. He has taken reasonable corrective action therefore we do not need to harp on this any further.
