hi i just installed a new water pump i broke the card for the timing belt by accident and this way u dont have to drop the alternator and the idler pully to put the new pump on

i put the new pump on and gasket, put gasket maker on too, i glued the plastic back on put the belt on, and when started car it ran ok i saw smoke but figured it just the coolant on belt, then i heard a like a bang or a snap or some kinda sound, but i have no water pressure, i got heat cuz it goes up to 3/4s and the fan comes on,

so what happened? did the shaft inside blow? u cant put it backwards cuz the bolt holes only go one way, well at least the gasket can only be put on one way

why dont i have pressure now

its sunday and i bought another water pump gonna take the new one off and replace it with newer one, but does anyone have any ideas why it might have got damaged?

i changed pump but i still have no pressure it cant be the thermostat can it? couldnt be that simple this time? as i figure thermostat is for temperatue and i have temperature just no pressure

what "card" are you talkng about that you broke? What engine is in your car?
