Idler pulley gone bad

Hello everyone,
I am new to this site and could use a little help. I have a 1995 Aurora and the idler pulley is bad and needs to be replaced. I dont have a manual and was wondering if anyone out there has done this before. I am somewhat handy and believe I can do this. I could really use a step by step approach though, and when its all done what is the best way to put the belt back on? How do you set the tension pulley? Thanks

Remove belt, place floor jack under engine for support, lift about 1inch, remove motor mount big bolt, remove 4 easy to reach bolts on motor mount interface plate, jack up motor 3-4 inches to gain access and remove 4 bolts on engine mount plate. The one on the lower rear is a 13mm and hard to get at. remove the two big bolts on main motor mounts and snake out mount and engine mount plate, use 18mm box end wrench on idler pulley stud bolt. Put on new serpenntine belt before re affixing the engine mount plate. good luck

A big thanks to user 55624096. The info helped a lot. Got it done and it went fairly well. Couple things I did along the way and learned as well. I removed the windshield washer reservoir to make more room. I put the serpentine belt on before putting it all back together( this made it easer). However I did not have a diagram on how to do that ,but after a half hour of routing & thinking I got her done. I really did have to jack the engine up about 4" to get the Idler pulley bolt out of the side of the block and clear the chasis. I did have to go and buy a 18mm box wrench in order to get the thing off. wrench sizes are all metric 13mm, 15mm, and 18mm. There is one bolt on a clamp that is attatched to the power steering line that is located near the back bottom( when facing the front of the car) that is hard to get to. I did not get it off but was able to maneuver the torque plates without disconnecting it. If I was able to reach it I would have taken it off, but its really not accessable. So be careful when moving this stuff around. Thanks again.

I heard it mentioned that the right front wheel should be removed for access to the bottom of the engine to put belt back on// is that true??

May I ask what brand idler pulley you bought and what the part # was? The one I just got at Pepboys was close, but wrong. Probably was the tensioner pulley though it said main drive next to it on the screen.
