1999 Ram 1500 Reverse lights dont workbeach karlos 02-20-2007, 08:41 PM Hey I've got a 1999 Ram 1500 I purchased from a friend. As the annual state inspection is approaching, I noticed neither back-up light works. I hoped it was 2 burned out bulbs. Not so lucky. I tried to find the fuse, and no fuse under the hood seems to be for reverse lights. The only one that was close was Fog Lamp/DRL (hopefully rl standing for reverse lamp), anyway, that fuse is fine. the shift indicator for the trans does go into R when I put the auto trans in reverse. Any ideas on where I could find this fuse and how I could further diagnose the problem? Any help is appreciated! dowellb 07-02-2007, 11:24 PM The fuse is not under the hood but it's under the dash on the left hand side. There will be a metal seal that will probably be stuck to the trans pull it off and install a new one. Just be ready for some ATF to come out when you pull the old switch out.
