Removing Sub-Woofer from '02 Deville.

Since I really needed this info and couldn't find it (although I didn't look exhaustively), I thought I'd post how I figured out how to do it.

What you will need: Needle-nose pliers, large flat-head screwdriver, possible a flashlight.

First you'll need to pop the trunk, climb in upside-down and find the audio connector for the woofer and disconnect it. You're now done in the trunk.

next is the opening of the back seat. there are four pressure springs that hold the top of the back seat in place. gently pull the top of the seat back back. you will see a metal tabs which you simply press down with one finger, and pull to disengage. repeat for all four tabs and gently pull back seat back. this will reveal two plastic plug buttons that keep the back felt panel firmly in place. gently pull these out. once that is done you can raise the whole felt panel with the speaker screen cover up to reveal the woofer. there are four plastic pins holding it down which you can remove gently using the needle-nose pliers. pull out the plastic pins and the receptors and pry up the woofer using the flat-head screwdriver. once it is out, you can put everything back together, and try to find a replacement woofer.

I hope this helps someone.
