Truck gets hot ,water comes out......arrowhead_limo 02-14-2007, 03:59 PM but the radiator cap stays cool.......? i replaced the water pump a month ago...no problems until the other day. any ideas? I see that water is coming from the passenger side. This only happens every few days. if the weep hole is leaking, can i plug it? KimMG 02-14-2007, 05:37 PM If the water pump is leaking, it is defective. If the thermostat is stuck closed, hot water cannot circulate through the radiator. kinetica7 02-14-2007, 07:20 PM you need to find the origen of the leak before you know what to fix... if you just replaced the water pump you might have a gasket leak at the water pump.. but check hoses, hose clamps, (like lower main), sometimes if you have a small crack or a missing clamp it wont leak untill it is under enough pressure (hot engine) look close and find the leak arrowhead_limo 02-14-2007, 09:25 PM It seems like water is dripping occasionaly from near the lower radiator hose.....not the hose itself. the truck used to run at 140 degrees now its about 200. BleedDodge 02-14-2007, 11:50 PM Maybe it's pressurizing? Head gasket? Are both hoses warm or just one? kinetica7 02-15-2007, 12:40 AM could be the water pump gasket.. if it is only dripping a little bit you might be better off leaving it alone.. unless it gets worse.. most engines run best around 200 degrees.. mine always runs at about 200. but if it keep climbing you might have to replace the thermostat, or you could just have low coolant.. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
