***What's the Best/Cheapest Ways to Increase Horsepower***DirectorSe7en 02-12-2007, 08:27 PM I currrently own a 1996 Chevy Monte Carlo LS, and would like to increase the horsepower. I have not modified the stock engine at all. So if there are chips, superchargers or any other methods anyone might know of please let me know, or link me. Thanks! 2000blazerls 02-12-2007, 09:45 PM You cant just come in and say whats the best way to increase horsepower. You search the forums and you will probably find the answers to what you are looking for. If you come up empty then you need to be more specific. Is your budget $500 or $5000? To help you we need more information on your end. Do you want simple upgrades or do you want to tear the engine apart or replace it all together? Let us know and then we can help. DirectorSe7en 02-12-2007, 10:44 PM Trust me I've done my fair share of research. I have no real limit although I prefer not to spend more than $5000 and would like simple upgrades. 2000blazerls 02-13-2007, 12:24 PM Well, if you want to spend $5000 or less, you could do an engine swap. Change the vehicle to RWD and put in a used V8 from a Camaro. This will give you a good increase. I know it isnt simple but it would be more fun =) On the simple side, I need to know which engine is in your car. Once you tell me this (I dont know all of them off of the top of my head) I can find you some stuff to work with. The main thing would be intake, exhaust, and a chip. cheapest and most effective way to increase power. But let me know the engine and I will see what I can find. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
