What ever happened to the Yamaha YZF Thunderace 1000?RSX 09-30-2002, 10:45 PM I've had this toy model that looked really cool, and I wanted to learn more about the bike, so I searched for it, but all that came up were French sites and stuff. Does anyone know if there's anywhere I can purchase it or something? Thanx alot. :) R1-rider 10-01-2002, 01:51 PM I believe the last model of the YZF1000 Thunderace was 97, they gave that model up to pursue the YZF- R1000 in 98. RSX 10-01-2002, 04:39 PM Thanx alot:D I hope they start it up again or something; though. It's a really nice looking bike. R1-rider 10-03-2002, 01:48 PM Nah, the R1 is a much better looking bike then the Thunderace. speediva 10-03-2002, 03:29 PM Originally posted by R1-rider Nah, the R1 is a much better looking bike then the Thunderace. Not that you'd be partial or anything ;) hehehe I have to admit that I do like the style of the R1... That silver color is :licker: R1-rider 10-03-2002, 09:50 PM Me? Partial? Whatever do you mean :) hehe I like that new black R1 with red flames for the 2003 lineup, very sexy. Kennedy200 11-16-2002, 07:26 PM I agree with RSX, I like the look of the thunderace. But, that thing was a tank. If I remember, it weighed over 500 lbs, and it didn't handle very well. I doubt sportbikes will return to the style of the old skool. IM they are going to start to become more angular and minimalist. IE the new R1. RSX 11-17-2002, 12:00 AM I like that new black R1 with red flames for the 2003 lineup, very sexy. Yes, it's (To me) the best looking bike for 2003. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
