:banghead: I have a 94 thunderbird v8. last week the gauges started flashing on and off when going over bumps. A couple of days ago the battery went dead. Went and got battery and alternator checked and they were fine. when i jumped it and then turned it off for 3 hours it started right back up. Didn't have to jump it for 3 days then went dead while i was driving it. I don't know what it could be...... is it an electrical problem???? Please help!!

Sounds like a bad ground connection somewhere.

Yeah definately a bad connection somewhere. Check your ground cable where it connects from the battery to the frame.

Check the cables for corrosion where the cable and the connector that goes on the battery are joined. Putting on new cables doesn't cost much and it gives you the chance to clean up the spot where the ground cable attaches to the engine block and frame with some sandpaper. Don't cut the battery connector off of the cable and install a new clamp-on connector- install a one piece cable and connector assembly. The clamp-on style of connector starts to corrode and looses continuity in a short time.
