"I was given BMW 528E, I drove it today and found that the front end shakes upon braking between 55-65 mph.

I noticed some play in the front end parts, so I replaced the idler arm bushing, but that didn't correct it, I noticed I still have some play in the front end when I shake the wheel front to back, So I replaced the drag/center link..... the shake got more ummmm precise, I guess would be a good word. I am at a loss, I had a friend follow me and the front wheels are shaking wildly, but only when applying the brake above 53 mph. The car drives straight and smooth. I've had it up to 80 mph.

I get the feeling that when it shakes that you can "power" through it, by mashing the brake hard. I have not checked the tierods yet, but was told the struts might be the culprit.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated??"

My 89 525 did that also, it turned out to be warped brake rotors. At first it was not so bad, and actually sometimes would not shake. If it did, you could let up a bit, then bear down again and it would brake OK. Eventually (after 3 or so years) it got progressivly worse until it shook badly every time I braked.... all this only at 55-65mpg. I put new rotors and brake pads on the front and that took care of it...

Welcome to the forum!

Good Luck.
