Low RPM's at idle

Is there any way to push up my RPM's during idle just a little? My motor idles at around 600ish - 800ish. It just sounds like crap and I don't think its to good for it. I know its mostly controlled in the ecm, but is there any other way?

Not really, the idle speed is also right on, look for something else here.

Really? I figured that was pretty low. i would say 800 would be about right, but I'm thinking it is lower than that, but when idleing it starts chugging, and stuff like that. What else would I be looking for. I just put a cone filter straight to the throttle body, and when its as cold as it is, my motor chuggs even worse and dies. In the last 6 months I have replaced the plugs, wires, 2 injectors (others should be changed too, but I dont want to put any more money in this car because its only gonna last until may or june, then I get my 240sx) and fuel filter. What eles would cause it to run like crap whe idleing?

Is it possible that the vacume line for the crusi off would do this? I noticed it wasn't hooked up yesterday, and it runs a little better. I also noticed that the idle scrw on the throttle body isnt that far in, is there anything to make that go in easily, cause I cant fit a screwdriver in that, there is only about 2 inches of space around it. If i move the throttle deal up even an eiight to a quarter inch it idles a lot smoother than it has been for the last few months, so I would like to move that screw a little bit.

Modern fuel injectors mostly get dirty and only need cleaning unless they are leaking on top. Old injectors used to quit misting a pulse and would pee instead not making for a good idle.

Idle mix is more often a problem. IAC gets dirty. ETC.. Any sensors removed when you changed the intake filter assy?

Good Luck

I know 4 injectors need to be replaced, but i dont have $200 to spend on them and this car is only needing to last me about another 4 months. No sensors were removed when I took out the stock air box assembly, there is nothing past the MAF on the throttle body. I plgged in the cruise control vac line and it runs a little smother, and I notced that if I move the throttle about an eight inch, it helps a lot, when I did that, the idle smothed out tremendously. I acctually think it is running under 500 RPM's or so. I cant move that crew any farther cuz I cant get a screw dricer in there, is there any other way to move it? I should be able to move that up another 1/8 inch or so. I am sure the MAF needs to be cleaned, can I just spray in some carb cleaner? What would I do with the IAC?

If you have a IAC Idle Air Controller.. you can clean it. Spray it out.. ect.

So you dont agree on the injectors? OK.

Where is the IAC located? Can I just use carb cleaner for the IAC and MAF? I know the injectors need to be replaced, I just don't want to spaed the money since its only gonna be around for a few more months.

Rear left side of intake throttle body area next to the fuel injector..
Its sometimes called a Idle air setpper motor..

Good Luck

I found my repair manual, and it says the IAC is on the air cleaner housing, but I had no sensors on my air box. With where you are talking, is it a roundish, 2 inch or so siameter metal thing with a tube running off of it, the whole thing being connected to the plenum? If so, how do I remove it?

Perhaps knowing it can get clogged and such you can get some cleaner inside the throttle body in that area if you spray it again.
Have you cleaned your EGR yet? They sometimes need a brushing out.

I haven't done anything with the EGR, What do I do with that, I know wher it is and what it does, but not how to clean it.

How do i move that screw? Its running a little better since I plugged that vacume line in.
