I have a 84' Delta 88 Regancy 307 5.0 litre V8,
I had to park it on a steep hill one day,Put the parking/e brake on. Went to go leave and noticed the cable release was broken so i had to manually release it. The light worked fine before but it would not go off. Checked the brake fluid and it was damn near empty. Topped it off, but still the light would not go off. I consulted a friend and he told me that either:
-I have air in the lines and need to bleed them.
-The master brake cylinder or the brake booster is bad.
-I have a puncured brake line somewhere.

Facts about my car:
-I have to pump the brakes to get it in its normal position.
-I have to press the Brake pedal all the way to the floor to stop, with Great resistance at the end.
-Pedal feels real Mushy, Makes a kind of "Dry Push" sound when i push it in!!
-I have no clue to what shape the brake shoes/pads are in- No metal 2 metal sound yet.
Can someone help me as i have no idea where to start first, to fix my brake light, mushy brake problem.

Welcome to AF!!

You have air in the master cylinder and it will need to be bled to get proper operation. Once you have done that you will need to bleed the brakes. I don't think the problem is with the pads/shoes although you may need to change them if you haven't done so in a while. Check everything before being satisfied that the brakes have been fixed.

Once everything is back in working order the light should go off by itself.
