What to do with my 1953 Dodge Truck???Akira13126 01-30-2007, 10:22 PM I'm having a hard time deciding what to do with my 53 Dodge. I've asked alot of my friends and coworkers about what I should do and I keep getting the same answer "Do what you like". Well I am thinking of a few different ideas and I would like your opinion. Heres a few ideas, Feel free to add yours 1) Restore the truck back to factory the best I can 2) Street Rod 3) build off a dakota frame and powertrain MagicRat 02-01-2007, 04:35 AM Restore to original. It will be worth more in the end. Also, if you start to cut it up for a rod, it will never be worthwhile to return to original. Lots of people start street rod projects, but run out of money/time/skill and are left with a nearly worthless project, or worse, a pile of scrap parts. Remember, it WILL cost lots more to finish than you plan to spend. Little things have a big habit of cropping up. Street rods and resto rods tend to cost lots of money to do right, but simply do not hold their value well. You will put far more into it than its worth. If you really want a street rod, but someone elses project or completed rod, and save in the long run. wafrederick 02-22-2007, 10:31 PM If oyu decide to street rod it,you will not find one with a Dodge engine under the hood. Most that are street roded had a small block Chevy under the hood for one reason:Easy to work on and parts are cheap vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
